Boarding

If you are interested to place your hamsters in our hamstery whilst you are away, kindly contact hesedetang * directly at hesedetanghamstery@gmail.com to indicate your interest.

Pre-booking is preferable in order to avoid disappointment. Boarding rates will differ depending on the length of stay, number of boarders amongst other things.

At our hamstery we believe that every hamster has different needs and requirements, in other words, every hamster is unique. Thus, we believe that the attention we provide your hamster(s) should be custom-made to suit them specifically. Having said that, please understand that we would prefer to have a little, non-obligatory e-mail conversation with you before advising you regarding the boarding costs. This also enables us to better serve our returning customers.

Please read our information page regarding our hamstery policy if you are intending to board with us for the first time, to avoid any mis-understanding.

As we are based in Singapore, we regret that we can only offer to board hamsters locally.

Payment:

  • Electronic transfer of cash through automated teller machines (ATMs), OR
  • Electronic transfer of cash through internet banking, OR
  • Cash on collection.

Policy:

  • We do not believe in making profits off our hamsters.
  • As we are not commercially driven, any proceeds from this site will go towards the upkeep of the hamstery.
  • We will ask a few questions about the hamster(s) pertaining to its health and maintenance routine before agreeing to board.
  • We will not accept more than five boarders at any one time – this is due to a belief that each hamster requires an equal amount of attention.
  • We do not accept requests to board pregnant hamsters unless in special circumstances. In the event your hamster(s) gives birth when boarding with us, we will not charge any extra costs for boarding the pups. We will invest time and effort to help provide extra care for the nursing mother but due to random factors such as the age of the hamster, quality of your own pre-natal care, quality of the hamster feed you are using, etc., we will not be able to guarantee the well-being of the offspring.
  • We will NEVER breed our own hamsters with boarders. This is to safeguard the interests of both parties.
  • We will provide fresh refills of food (check with hesedetang * at hesedetanghamstery@gmail.com for up-to-date information of what she is currently feeding her hamsters) and water daily. If your hamster(s) requires a specific diet or staple food, please bring those foods along.
  • We will provide one change of bedding (Breeders Celect Recycled Paper Cat Litter) if and when necessary; otherwise once every 21 days.
  • We will require you to fill out a form if your hamster is to board with us for more than 14 days.
  • We will insist on a deposit of SGD40.00 (per hamster) if your hamster(s) is to board with us for more than 14 days.
  • We will utilise the deposit in the event your hamster(s) requires veterinary attention; otherwise we will return the deposit in full upon the collection of your hamster(s).
  • We will keep records of all extra-ordinary expenditures such as veterinary bills, purchase of medication, etc. during the stay.
  • We will expect full re-imbursement in the event the deposit monies are insufficient to cover the expenditures.
  • We will continue to board your hamster(s) should you decide to extend their stay with us, but at an additional SGD5.00 per day.
  • We believe in maintaining contact with boarders and warmly welcome updates and feedback.
  • We once again regret that our boarding services do not apply overseas.


Important:
If you feel that your hamster is seriously ill or showing abnormal symptoms, please take it to the vet instead of sending us emails. There is very little we can do to help in an emergency as we may not even have computer or internet access. Despite our lengthy experience in caring for hamsters, we are NOT certified veterinarians, neither are we running an information counter.
