We are happy to open our doors to Boarders once again.

We do hope you understand that this service is, as always, subject to availability. For further information and details, please access our Boarding page.

It is with much regret that we wish to inform that we are in the process of relocating. Therefore our boarding services will no longer be available until further notice.

As we are unfortunately not able to forsee when our services can resume, we apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Please note that if you have made reservations to board your hamsters with us from June 2010 onwards, we will write to you to re-confirm the reservation one month before your reservation is due. We encourage you to find an alternative boarding service before that time if you so desire.

Clubpets Magazine Singapore has invited us to do a short interview with them about our Hamstery for their next issue (June-August 2009).

The ham-couple of Pearl Pudding father “Hesedetang’s Radical-Cross One Thing at A Time Soya” and Sapphire mother “Hesedetang’s Triumphant-Standard Streams in the Desert Blueberry” have once again had their 3rd litter, this time of nine pups who, all of which are looking for new homes. 

Their details are as follows:

• 1 Pudding – Female
• 4 Pearl – 2 Female, 2 Male
• 4 Agouti – 3 Female, 1 Male

They were born on 26th February 2009, so they are approximately 6 weeks old to date. The following are pictures a few photos taken this afternoon, the first is of the entire litter at 3 weeks old.

 
Also looking for a home to go to is their older brother, from the 2nd litter.

He was born on 5th January 2009, and quite a hyper little fellow who loves interaction.

Meringue (Hesedetang’s Radical Cross-On A Hill Far Away Meringue) is a very beloved hamster born here in our hamstery to Mitsuba ("Hesedetang’s Radical Cross-One Thing At A Time Mitsuba") and Myojo (from another home-breeder).

Her date of birth is 23 November 2008.

She is a sweet girl who is easily startled due to the fact that she was born deaf. She is the only one from amongst her (to-date) 15 siblings to carry dark-red eyes that are only obvious under certain types of lighting.

She seems to have a slight lilt to the left, but this is only apparent when walking in open spaces.

Ideally we seek a loving and experienced owner who has the ability and the patience to look after her.

From when we found out she was deaf, we already loved her and had plans to keep her. However it is found that being here in the presence of other hamsters seems to make her very anxious and we have begun to feel that it is not the best for her to remain with us, as in addition to the ones that reside here, we have a constant traffic of boarding hamsters.

Because of her slightly delicate situation, we are going to be extra selective in screening potential adopters. Your understanding is much appreciated.

They were born on 3 December 2008 to a Pearl Pudding father “Hesedetang’s Radical-Cross One Thing at A Time Soya” and a Sapphire mother “Hesedetang’s Triumphant-Standard Streams in the Desert Blueberry”.

As the pups will only arrive at our hamstery at a later date, reference photos from our hamstery archives are attached below. Please note that these are not the hamsters up for adoption, but their relatives, some of whom have already left the hamstery.

Nevertheless, we feel that it is necessary to state our hamstery policies once again for those who might have missed it.

Thank you for all your e-mails, please bear with us as we work towards answering them all.

Sales Policies

• We do not believe in making profits off our hamsters.
• As we are not commercially driven, any proceeds from this site will go towards the upkeep of the hamstery.
  
• We do not breed hamsters on demand. Please be prepared to wait as long as 3 months after you indicate your interest. If you are unable to wait, we suggest you adopt from the SPCA instead.
• We will readily reject selling to any potential buyer if we feel that it is best for the hamster(s). Undoubtedly, the well-being of our hamsters is a higher priority to us than keeping any customers. We would prefer to bear the extra costs of upkeep than allow a hamster to go to a less than desirable home.
• We notify prospective buyers regarding payment when there is a new litter, and collection will be arranged when the litter is about to be weaned.
• We do not allow animals that have not been completely weaned to be collected, even if they have already been paid for.
• We will happily board your hamster(s) until you are ready to make the collection.
• We do not sell sick or aggressive hamsters or hamsters that have passed the age of one month.
• We believe in maintaining contact with our buyers and warmly welcome updates and feedback.
• We once again regret that our hamsters are not for sale overseas.

Boarding Policies

• As always, we do not believe in making profits off our hamsters. As we are not commercially driven, any proceeds from this site will go towards the upkeep of the hamstery.
• We will ask a few questions about the hamster(s) pertaining to its health and maintenance routine before agreeing to board.
• We will not accept more than five boarders at any one time – this is due to a belief that each hamster requires an equal amount of attention.
• We do not accept requests to board pregnant hamsters unless in special circumstances. In the event your hamster(s) gives birth when boarding with us, we will not charge any extra costs for boarding the pups. We will invest time and effort to help provide extra care for the nursing mother but due to random factors such as the age of the hamster, quality of your own pre-natal care, quality of the hamster feed you are using, etc., we will not be able to guarantee the well-being of the offspring.
• We will NEVER breed our own hamsters with boarders. This is to safeguard the health and interests of both parties.
• We will provide fresh refills of food (check with hesedetang * at hesedetanghamstery@gmail.com for up-to-date information of what she is currently feeding her hamsters) and water daily. If your hamster(s) requires a specific diet or staple food, please bring those foods along.
• We will provide one change of bedding (Breeders Celect Recycled Paper Cat Litter) if and when necessary; otherwise once every 21 days.
• We will require you to fill out a form if your hamster is to board with us for more than 14 days.
• We will insist on a deposit of SGD40.00 (per hamster) if your hamster(s) is to board with us for more than 14 days.
• We will utilise the deposit in the event your hamster(s) requires veterinary attention; otherwise we will return the deposit in full upon the collection of your hamster(s).
• We will keep records of all extra-ordinary expenditures such as veterinary bills, purchase of medication, etc. during the stay.
• We will expect full re-imbursement in the event the deposit monies are insufficient to cover the expenditures.
• We will continue to board your hamster(s) should you decide to extend their stay with us, but at an additional SGD5.00 per day.
• We believe in maintaining contact with boarders and warmly welcome updates and feedback.
• We once again regret that our boarding services do not apply overseas.

Adoptions/Re-homing

• We do not charge any fees for adoption/re-homing hamsters.
• Potential adopting families/individuals will need to answer some basic questions pertaining to housing, care, maintenance and general upkeep of the hamster(s).
• Potential adopting families/individuals will be briefed about the special needs of the hamster(s), if any.
• We do not allow hamsters that have not been completely weaned to be collected, even if the adoption has been finalised.
• We do not allow hamsters that are greviously sick or injured to be collected, even if the adoption has been finalised.
• We will readily reject an offer to adopt a hamster(s) if we feel that it is best for the hamster(s).
• We will happily board your hamster(s) until you are ready to make the collection.
• We believe in maintaining contact with adopting families/individuals and warmly welcome updates and feedback.
• We once again regret that our hamsters are not for adoption overseas.

If you feel that your hamster is seriously ill or showing abnormal symptoms, please take it to the vet instead of sending us emails. There is very little we can do to help in an emergency as we may not even have computer or internet access. Despite our lengthy experience in caring for hamsters, we are NOT certified veterinarians, neither are we running an information counter.
